AEW DYNAMITE APRIL 6TH RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG
Welcome to our bloodthirsty cult sect, make yourself at home in our dark conventicle as we anathematize all who oppose us. Don’t summon the devil, don’t call the priests, if you need strength conjure me to live blog this pro wrestling show here for you guys.
The show opens with the intro video.
Adam Cole vs. Christian Cage
Collar and elbow, in the corner and Cage breaks clean. Pass-behind, belt takedown, straddling Cole, he slips, chancery forward, side headlock, off the ropes, shoulder block, dead end! Adam with punches, Christian sends him out of the ring and gives chase, slicing a forearm!
Back inside, up top, jockey for position and Cole hangs him up in the tree of misfortune and boots him up before finishing him off with a superkick! Back outside, putting Cage in the barricade, whipping him hard up the steps and we’re going to break.
Back from the commercial, Cage dives on Cole and but he dodges and both men are down and out! Back inside, enzuigiri from Adam, up top but Christian cuts him off with a high kick and climbs for mounted punches in the turnbuckles! Back and forth, the Lung Blower cuts Cage and gives Cole a two count!
Small package sets up a reverse DDT, Christian goes upstairs, no one home on the diving whim! The basement super kick sets up a super kick, leaving the knee the pad up, out of the ropes… KNEE KICK CAGE! On the second, Cole cuts him in the air with a superkick!
Upstairs, Cage cuts him off, Frankensteiner avalanche… NO! Over the ropes, Adam with a pump kick, knee cap down, Christian dodges the Boom and hits the spear…SO CLOSE! Looking for the Killswitch, Cole with a punch in the eye, off the ropes…
Adam Cole wins by fall with the Boom.
After the match, reDRagon rushes in to beat Cage but Jurassic Express evens the odds and the teams brawl in the back!
Enter “Hangman” Adam Page.
He yells at Cole about a title match and says he’ll give it to him, and it will serve as his punishment. Next week in a live Rampage in Texas they will have a match, but not a normal match, more like a Texas Death Match! And if he was Adam Cole, he would put his affairs in order.
We get a recap of Supercard of Honor’s heyday.
Max Caster vs. Samoa Joe (Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifying Match)
Caster nudges a skeptical Joe who drops him with a headbutt! Fucking Max in the corner, putting boots on him, chops in the corner and a whip across. Snapmare and a chop, off the ropes with an elbow, and Caster goes to the floor to regroup. Samoa comes off the ropes with the tope and Max eats it hard!
Caster brings Joe back inside and unloads with right hands and chops, but celebrates too soon and Samoa knocks him down! Upstairs, Joe installs it…
Samoa Joe wins by pinfall with the Muscle Buster.
After the match, Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt appear on the tron.
Lethal says his new perspective is to do and say what he wants and he’s happy because for months he tried to call Joe and got nothing, because he only answers for billionaires , and they should call him the Samoan gold digger. The worst part is that if he had known he was coming, he would have rolled out the red carpet for him anyway.
Sonjay points out that he still can, and Jay says next week in New Orleans he’ll give her a gift he’ll never forget.
The commentary fills the rest of tonight’s show and we’re going to take a break.
Back from the pub, the Blackpool Combat Club is interviewed.
William Regal says he’s excited and sorry for Trent Beretta, but Wheeler YUTA impressed him and impressed Danielson, and he has to impress Jon Moxley. Jon says the forecast for Friday has bones cracking like thunder and it’s raining blood.
Captain Shawn Dean vs. Shawn Spears
Maxwell Jacob Friedman is on the commentary for this one.
Turning, collar and elbow, going behind, standing switch, Spears with a backbreaker and a fake salute! Moving away, out and back, a daredevil and the president with a pin, but he shoots Dean and stands in wait. We pick him up, pass the fireman and go behind the scenes where several security guards have been set up.
We see Wardlow weaving through the security guards as he heads to the ring! Warlow’s presence is enough to keep Spears distracted…
Captain Shawn Dean wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin.
MJF and Spears storm off.
The best friends are interviewed behind the scenes.
Chuck Taylor gives Wheeler YUTA a talk and says they let him crash on his couch and paid for the tights he’s wearing, and there’s no reason he can’t be the best wrestler while being part of Best Friends. Trent Beretta says he doesn’t like him and tells him to watch what he’s doing to Danielson and maybe learn something.
Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti come in to do the picture in picture gimmick and we’re going to take a break.
Back from the commercial, we get a clip of Eddie Kingston, Ortiz and Santana defeating the Jericho Appreciation Society earlier today.
They walk in and Eddie says we’ll talk now.
He calls Chris Jericho a two-faced coward and says it’s on sight. He can be with his wife and kids and he attacks, and that goes for 2.0 and Daniel Garcia (he knows where he lives!) and Jake Hager, so keep running. Mike Santana calls them the Jericho Bitch Society and says they better put up the toughest fight because that’s what they do.
Angel Ortiz says to see them in New Orleans next week so they can get a six man, but either way it’s on sight. Kingston says they’ll kick ass like Junkyard Dog.
And so we’re going to take a break.
Back from the pub, Tony Schiavone interviews Jade Cargill and “Smart” Mark Sterling on stage.
Jade presents her Baddie section and we get a nice angle on several attractive women. Cargill tells us a villain is a woman who knows her worth and knows herself, and Sterling says it was hard to find good-looking people in Boston, but Jade did it.
Marina Shafir may be a badass, but she’s no villain, and Cargill calls her trash and says she’s tired of all those MMA losers who walk into her ring on her show. Mark calls Shafir the problem and Jade says she’s a problem solver.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Shawn Spears are updated and MJF challenges Shawn Dean to a match next week, and says he will hurt him more than ever in combat.
Butcher and the Blade (Andy “Butcher” Williams & Pepper “Blade” Parks) vs. Hardy Boyz (Jeff & Matt Hardy) (Tables Match)
Butcher and Blade break the legs off a table and use them to knock down the Hardyz as they enter! Brawling all over, Butcher blasts Matt with a forearm through a chair! He’s also going to attack Jeff, but the Hardyz hit him with a double DDT! Blade returns, teaming up with Brother Nero into a table but not through and we’ll break!
Back from the commercial, Matt moaned on Butcher with a steel chair before laying him down on a table. Cutting Blade as he tries to make the save, head up, dipping his leg through the table…
The Butcher is eliminated.
Matt dives off the apron and runs through a table when Blade dodges! Passing Matt through the barricade, doing some hardcore Feng Shui, but Jeff Hardy knocks the table away when they suplex him over the barricade! Jeff with the Manhattan Drop at the double leg drop, Twist of Fate on Blade!
Hardyz installs two tables in the shade of a ladder, places Blade on them, Jeff perches at the top of the ladder…
Hardy Boyz wins, last eliminating Blade with a Swanton Bomb through a table.
Andrade Family Office enters and walks down the ramp—
Sting is here!
He moves forward, Andrade pulls the rabbit in front of him in an act of cowardice and Sting lets them pass.
Christian Cage and Jurassic Express are behind the scenes.
Christian throws down his drink and leaves, and Jungle Boy cuts a promo.
He says that reDRagon was champion of the whole world, but here things are determined by your record, and they are not good enough to fight for the titles, but as they keep getting involved, they will challenge reDRagon and put titles on line next week!
And so we’re going to take a break.
Back from the commercial, we get a video package for Nyla Rose vs. Thunder Rosa where they get dueling promos.
Tony Schiavone is backstage with Jamie Hayter and Toni Storm.
Storm offers a handshake but Hayter pulls her hand away and says “everyone loves Toni” stop with her, because she’s the only one who deserves to win. Storm says she will win.
Hikaru Shida vs. Julia Hart (Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier)
Hart asks the Varsity Blonds to go, spring lariat, whip through, she takes another one but Shida lifts her up and puts her in the turnbuckles and follows her with a wedge knee that comes up! On the floor, Hikaru with the chair step-up dropkick!
Julia picks things up inside and picks up momentum as we go to break.
