Brixton ‘ideal location’ for German sportswear brand

German sportswear brand BSTN is to open its first UK store in the former NatWest bank premises at 395/397 Brixton Road.

Scheduled to open in April, the store will be BSTN’s first outside of Germany.

Listed at a rent of £140,000 a year, the two-storey building built in 2000 has been let by property company Savills “on behalf of a private client”. The registered owner of the site is Mill Property Company, based in North London.

BSTN has signed a 10-year lease on the premises of over 3,000 square feet at the junction of Brixton Road and Beehive Place.

Savills said: “BSTN is rapidly becoming one of Europe’s most prominent sportswear brands, with exceptionally strong sales figures and a world-class social media following.

“Despite its highly established e-commerce business, BSTN has prioritized opening a first brick and mortar store here in the UK, and Brixton Road in London is the perfect location for this.”

Roberto Aufiero, CEO and Co-Founder of BSTN, said: “We are delighted to begin the next chapter of BSTN’s journey by extending our unique philosophy of premium sportswear to London.

“We look forward to getting even closer to our community and will do our best to make a positive contribution to the neighborhood.

Brixton’s NatWest is now at 504 Brixton Road, corner of Brighton Terrace.
