Since the EU announced its digital and data strategy in February 2020, the European Commission has published several legislative proposals aimed at regulating digital platforms and services, in particular with regard to access and use of data. The proposals include the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and the Digital Services Act (DSA).

The UK – which since Brexit will no longer be covered by the EU’s digital and data strategy – is working on its own national data strategy, which includes the UK Online Safety Bill (UK OSB). The UK OSB is similar in scope and application to the EU DSA; however, we will discuss some key differences between them in this webinar.

Please join Sidley and OneTrust DataGuidance for this webinar focusing on the impact of the new data regulations with EU Digital and Data Strategy and UK OSB. This session will also cover:

  • An overview and understanding of UK DMA, DSA and OSB and how they overlap with existing laws
  • Main provisions and their scope
  • Timeline of what to expect and when to prepare

In a future webinar, we will discuss other legislative proposals that are still in the works, including the Data Governance Act, Data Act and Artificial Intelligence Act.
