Check out how awesome the sunrise was this morning in the NC OBX. The Avon Surfchex camera always delivers great views.
Harborfest weekend will be pretty nice all over the area. If you go to the festival, enjoy! Temperatures will be in the 80s.
For Saturday and Sunday, a shower or an isolated thunderstorm is possible. It won’t rain everywhere, but where we see a downpour or storm developing, heavy rain and gusty winds could occur.
On Sunday there is a slightly higher chance of a storm or two bringing gusty winds. We can see a warning issued. We are in a level 1 severe weather risk.
The big story next week will be heat across much of the southeastern United States, including parts of our region earlier in the week. A large ridge of high pressure will develop, setting the stage for the heat.
Highs will be in the 80s and 90s with some inland areas approaching the mid 90s. Humidity will return meaning temperatures will feel like higher as well.
With this type of weather, we occasionally see clusters of showers and thunderstorms moving northwest out of the Ohio Valley. We will monitor this potential.
I hope you are having a good weekend!
