How to change music distributor from Spinnup to RouteNote

Can you switch music distributors now that Spinnup is invite-only? Yes. Transfer your music from Spinnup to RouteNote easily and for free. Here’s how.

Is the Spinnup distribution kicking you out? Don’t lose your streams, your artist page, and all the hard work you’ve put into building your music brand! You must switch to an alternate distributor.

Move from Spinnup to RouteNote distribution. Spinnup, owned by Universal Music Group, is moving to an invite-only model and has announced to its existing small artists that their music will be removed from platforms like Spotify.

This kind of favoritism is completely against our philosophy here at RouteNote, where we offer free distribution for all independent artists who want to have their music heard, on all major platforms, from Apple Music to Amazon.

Why should you choose RouteNote over another distributor? RouteNote distribution removes all barriers to entry for artists who wish to have their music heard.

Covering 95% of the digital market and protecting your music on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, RouteNote keeps you in full control of your music – and it’s easy to switch from Spinnup.

How to transfer your music from Spinnup to RouteNote

You need to follow a few steps before you can switch to RouteNote from another distributor, but it’s a very simple process and you won’t lose any of your existing music:

Spinnup artists have up to July 19and 2022 to transfer your music from Spinnup. You cannot upload duplicates to another distributor, so you will need to delete your music from Spinnup and remove it from streaming services and stores before uploading it to RouteNote.

Spinnup has provided its own tips for switching music distributors here. Download your release files from Spinnup in the My Releases tab. You can no longer download your assets once your releases have been removed by Spinnup.

Your music will remain on the same artist pages as when you distributed it through Spinnup.

It’s essential to note your tracks’ metadata such as ISRC and UPC, so that when you re-download your music, your tracks match and you don’t lose your streams. Once you’ve output your tracks, check the readings to make sure they match up correctly.
