Now that’s a MacBook Air deal that I (Roland Moore-Colyer) can personally recommend. It’s because I have the Macbook Air M2, and I like it; it may even be my gadget of the year.
Sure, the display notch is a bit odd, but in use you won’t notice it much. And this M2 chip is so fast. But even more impressive is the battery life – the new MacBook Air got me through the whole of IFA 2022 with essentially a single charge. It also works well with some games and the display is simply stunning.
While I prefer a little snappier keyboard feedback, like what a Surface laptop will offer, the MacBook Air M2 is still a great do-it-all machine. And with $150 off, I really recommend you consider it if you’re looking for a new laptop.

This 13 inch 2-in-1 convertible laptop may not be on our best chromebooks list, but it’s a bargain. Plus, with an 11th Gen i3 processor and 8GB of RAM, it can handle almost any productivity task you throw at it.
The suite of features you get with the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook is hard to beat. Instead of an underpowered mobile processor, you get an 11th Gen Intel Core i3 chip. Add the 8GB and 128GB SSDs and you’ve got a pretty decent spec sheet on a sub-$300 machine.
Oh, and did we mention that this 2.98-pound device can turn into a tablet? It’s definitely one of the highlights of this versatile Chromebook and I love it. I have the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 and I love the ability to turn my Chromebook into a tablet. The touchscreen even offers stylus support (although you have to buy it separately).
Chromebooks are known for their long battery life, and this model shouldn’t disappoint. Lenovo rates the IdeaPad Flex 5i for 10 hours of battery life, so you should be able to get through most of the day on a charge.

It might not have the best specs of the best gaming laptops, but it should be powerful enough to handle some of the best PC games.
This Lenovo machine has a large 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU, 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256 GB SSD. It also comes with Windows 11 Pre installed.
As we said up top, this isn’t exactly the most impressive gaming laptop in terms of specs. But considering how this laptop has a maximum resolution of 1080p, you don’t necessarily need a high-end Nvidia RTX 30-series mobile GPU to get 4K resolution. 8GB of RAM isn’t that exciting either; if you play games on medium or low settings, this should suffice.
If you’re looking for a new Windows 11 laptop, you could do a lot worse than the Microsoft Surface Pro 8, a Microsoft-designed Windows tablet that doubles as a decent laptop if you attach the keyboard cover ( optional).

You can get one for just $899, which is a fair discount off the usual price of $1,349. It’s also a great tablet, with a vibrant 13-inch touchscreen and an excellent webcam. Although the 11th Gen Intel processor inside isn’t quite as fast as the latest 12th Gen chips inside the new Surface Pro 9, it’s still plenty powerful for everyday work. Looking for a good laptop under $100? The 11.6-inch HP Chromebook is the perfect choice, whether you’re planning to give that gift to someone or buying it for your child or an older relative. It may not appear on our best laptops page but with decent specs, this Chromebook is great for browsing the internet and it will handle basic tasks well.
