Hats off to EarlG on Democraticunderground.com
It’s kind of a stream of consciousness that’s been floating around in my mind all morning. I feel like the only way to get rid of it is to put it down on paper.
Finally, it appears that Donald Trump may in fact face some consequences for his decades of fraud and corruption. Last week, after Judge Cannon tried to give Trump another escape route, this week it appears that escape route has closed. Even the 11th Circuit judges he appointed couldn’t stand the orders Judge Cannon had put in place, so they set some aside.
As talking heads on radio and television have continually predicted, Trump is about to run out of escape routes. Stealing Top Secret documents seems to have been a step too far. Like so many others, even super-criminal Trump has gone too far.
Meanwhile, on Trump’s business front, NY AG Letitia James appears to have closed the escape routes for Trump’s fraudulent tax claims associated with his fraudulent real estate claims for loans from New York banks. As you’ve no doubt read, she appears to have a nearly watertight case for the lawsuit she filed against Trump, his children, and his New York businesses. James also added a little dessert by referring Trump to criminal prosecution by the FBI and IRS.
Meanwhile in Atlanta, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said her investigation into election tampering could result in jail time for many of those involved in the tampering. Trump responded by threatening the country with violence if anything happened to him. It seemed like a low threat as people see the January 6 attendees receiving a jail sentence.
And an extra straw on the camel’s back: E. Jean Carroll sued Trump for sexual battery and emotional distress over Trump’s alleged rape decades ago. The deposition in this trial is due by the middle of next month.
All of this Trump news is making headlines just ahead of the midterms which features an almost total cast of supporting Trumps, Big Lie claiming the far-right Republican candidates who need to try to figure out how they can avoid getting caught in the whirlwind as Trump shits start coming down the toilet. Just to remind people of Trump’s main claim to fame, the January 5 Committee will make an appearance next Wednesday to discuss Trump leading an insurrection against our country.
Overseas, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues to stall as Ukraine has launched major counter-offensives. More bad news for dictators and would-be dictators around the world: Moscow is facing a crisis as Putin has ordered troops recalled to service to serve as cannon fodder for his war. Curiously, the young men don’t want to be sent to fight Putin’s war where there’s a good chance they’ll be killed.
The weather continues to cause huge problems around the world. Pakistan is still flooded, Japan was rocked by a massive typhoon and even Alaska was beset by a tropical typhoon while Puerto Rico once again suffered a massive hurricane at the end of the season. We are beginning to see how massive climate change is creating our climate. It will only get worse.
And finally for this list, we see the Federal Reserve steering our economy into a major recession because it looks like it only has one hammer and no other tools in its toolbox. Therefore, they will use this hammer to smash the economy and put a large number of people out of work. It seems really strange that they don’t have any other processes or tools.
The United States is not the only country to use the hammer of interest to stop inflation, so it almost sounds like a coordinated campaign to bring about a recession.
Meanwhile in Britain, Liz Truss has announced she will do her best to repeat Margaret Thatcher’s mistakes and claims she will get different results. What was this definition of madness again?
Either way, it’s starting to look like the cloudy portion of the storm wall is approaching. Expect to see funnel clouds dropping soon. Hopefully, once this front has passed (and it may take up to a year), calm will follow.
