More Aaron Rodgers and Bucs Chat –

“Tom, I heard there’s a nice development called ‘Piney Point’ which is a good place to buy property. What do you know about this?”

Joe knows a lot of Bucs fans are dreaming of Packers drama queen quarterback Aaron Rodgers dressing up for Tampa Bay this fall.

Joe disagrees with that.

Last week, Joe brought up a conversation by longtime national nighttime sports radio host “JT the Brick” on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio. He said Rodgers would never want to come to Tampa because then he would be playing in the shadow of Tom Brady and his every move would be compared to Brady, whom no mortal can touch.

Well, yesterday, during an appearance on “Mad Dog Unleashed,” heard exclusively on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio, the creator, curator, and general guru of Professional Football Discussionthe great Mike Florio, also touched on the fact that Rodgers in Tampa isn’t the craziest idea.

But would that happen? In a discussion on Rodgers, Florio questioned his fit for the Bucs.

Mike Florio: What about Tampa Bay since Brady came out? Would they trade it there…

Chris “Mad Dog” Russo: I don’t think they would.

Florio: … and would he like to go? Would he follow Tom Brady to Tampa?

Russian: It’s a good question. I don’t think that would be his preference. It wouldn’t be his preference. But they have a lot of good players. They have good receivers. It’s a good team. I don’t know if you’re Green Bay – why would you if you’re Green Bay – unless you think it’s going to be a five year rebuild and what difference does that make? [Rodgers] only about five years old [left] anyway. By the time he’s finished in Tampa, we’ll be ready to win again. Maybe if you look at it from that perspective. I would think of AFC.

It’s just wild. Think about it: Packers are coming off back-to-back No. 1 seeds in the NFC and all of a sudden if they lose Rodgers they’re looking at a rebuild??? It’s just crazy. Is Jordan Love really a project?

The reason Joe doesn’t want Rodgers (not even considering his annual choke job in the playoffs) is because his record in hot-weather venues is abysmal. And guess where the Bucs play their home games?

Rodgers is 1-3 against the Bucs in Tampa? One of them was Josh Freeman’s first start, dozing and leaking, while wearing the creamsicles. Rodgers’ only victory in Tampa was a 20-3 win in 2014, and for days after Rodgers continued to complain that he had a bad game and hurt his ankle because of what he did. he considered one of the worst pitches in the league. Drama!

Joe can’t imagine how much Team Glazer loot it would take to get Rodgers out of Green Bay.
