Report: Bruce Arians under NFL investigation
September 19, 2022
The Bucs-Saints melee opened a Pandora’s box that shouldn’t be a problem.
Bucco Bruce Arians only lasted one regular season game sitting in a suite with general manager Jason Licht watching the games, as was his plan. Yesterday he was sidelined and the cameras caught him barking loudly at the referees.
Mike Florio from ProFootballTalk.com says the NFL is investigating the fight between Marshon Lattimore and Mike Evans, and that includes the potential role of the Arians and whether his presence on the sidelines is appropriate.
It’s unclear if the league can order the Buccaneers to kick the Arians off the sideline, but it should be. He is no longer part of the technical staff. He should act accordingly.
Joe disagrees when it comes to the Arians being sidelined. Its good. Owners are sometimes on the sidelines during games (not Team Glazer), as are players’ personal trainers. It’s not serious. Hell, Joe would be okay with Arians wearing helmets, which he isn’t.
Officials are free to signal a sideline with a personal foul if someone is inappropriate there. That didn’t happen to the Bucs. Not yet.
