CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) – Iowa has a new candidate for governor of Iowa.

Rick Stewart of Cedar Rapids is running for governor of Iowa. Stewart presents himself as a libertarian. Marco Battaglia, of Des Moines, is his running mate.

The Iowa Libertarian Party endorsed Stewart at its state convention in January. Stewart also received 5,000 petition signatures.

Stewart is the founder of Frontier Natural Products Co-op in Norway, Iowa and is now retired.

In a press release, Stewart said:

“I’m running for Governor of Iowa because it’s time to have a Governor for all Iowans and not just for members of a particular political party. It’s time for a Governor to stand up for shamelessly ending Iowa’s bigoted and destructive war on drugs.with families working in Iowa to ensure that all Iowans have access to quality education that meets the best to the needs of their children through universal school choice. , or had their businesses closed by executive order while Wal-Mart remained open. The Iowa gubernatorial election will take place on November 8.
