Subway service alerts: Brooklyn Heights and nearby

Note: This week we are replacing Claude, who is on a special mission, posing as a promising young squash player to uncover an illicit bitcoin sock system against Argyle at Heights Casino. Wait, did we just blow up his blanket? Sorry, Claude!

Here is a brief summary of this weekend’s metro service alerts that we believe most directly impact the neighborhood. For the most part, these are the same changes as planned last weekend. It is not a complete exegesis of the MTA’s metro service alert bulletins. Please visit the official MTA website for the source text.

2.3: Due to “structural improvements”, the Flatbush-bound 2 and the New Lots-bound 3 will skip Bergen Street, Grand Army Plaza, and Eastern Parkway / Brooklyn Museum stops, from 9.45 p.m. Friday to 5.00 a.m. Monday.

But that’s not all! the towards chic neighborhoods 2/3 will be held locally in Manhattan from the 96th to Chambers, the 2 will run every 12 minutes during the day and early evening, AND the 3 will NOT work overnight!

4: The local evening / night Utica / New Lots Avenue 4 will skip Bergen Street, Grand Army Plaza, and Eastern Parkway / Brooklyn Museum, every weekend night, like 2 and 3.

R: Okay, if we understand correctly, the R will not run in either direction between Whitehall / South Ferry and 59th Street in Brooklyn at all, from Friday evening (11:45 p.m.) to Sunday morning (6:00 a.m.), then Sunday evening to Monday morning. Sunday, between 6 a.m. and 11:45 p.m., Manhattan / Queens-bound R train will pass as a Q express train from Atlantic Avenue to Canal Street, skipping our local Court Street and Jay Street / Metrotech stops. All this under the aegis of “Track Maintenance”. Better to avoid the R this weekend.

g: Does not run between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Church Avenue from Friday evening at 9:30 p.m. to Monday morning at 5:00 a.m.

F: Skipping Bergen, Carroll and Smith-9th streets in both directions. Also F does not run in both directions between Church and Coney Island-Stillwell avenues due to the 2021/22 Great Culver Line signal upgrade project.

NOT: Local Towards Astoria N will also pretend to be a Q train on weekend nights.
