Neil reported earlier today that technical director Dan Ashworth had left Brighton and there were news reports that he would be joining another Premier League club.
And Craig Hope of the Mail is now reporting that the club is Newcastle United.

The news is also reported in the Jock.
Newcastle have been after Ashworth for some time and have even spoken to him about taking over as Newcastle director of football.
And if the news is correct, he will join Newcastle after an enforced gardening leave, which was part of his contract at Brighton.
But some reports indicate that the announcement of his Newcastle appointment is imminent – we’ll see.
Here is an excerpt from the Athletic report:
“The 50-year-old joined Brighton in the spring of 2019 after six years with the English FA as director of top flight development.”
“While working in the setup of the national team, Ashworth is credited with playing a major role in overhauling the English system.”
“Due to his work at Brighton and with the FA in creating the ‘England DNA’ performance plan, Ashworth is highly regarded in the football industry.
It’s a phenomenal signing for the new Newcastle, and it appears a prior agreement between Brighton and Newcastle was that he could leave Brighton, but only after the January transfer window.
It makes the summer transfer window even more exciting for Newcastle fans, but we can’t get ahead of ourselves.
We face a rejuvenated Everton tomorrow night at home and it will be a tough test for our new team.
And with Norwich showing new life with 3 straight wins, and Watford having an experienced new manager in Roy Hodgson, we will need to get at least 40 points this season to avoid relegation.
It won’t be easy, but we can do it!
