Job Title: FT Dining Room Server
Daystar Retirement Village is looking for 2 FT Dining Servers and 2 PT Dining Servers. All shifts are from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Must be willing to work at least one weekend day per week.
Purpose of the job: to provide and ensure an appropriate, comfortable and homelike atmosphere and environment while competently serving meals.
Authority: Servers report to and receive direction from the Food Services Manager and Dining Room Manager. Within the limits of this authority, is responsible for the environment of the dining room.
Experience/Education: Ability to read, speak and write the English language as well as follow written and oral instructions.
Main responsibilities:
1. Respect the safety rules
2. Is aware of the special dietary needs of residents. Responsible for the accommodation and correct distribution of special dietary needs
3. Prepare the dining room(s) for meals
4. Serves meals to residents in the dining room(s)
5. Return dishes and utensils for washing
6. Clean the corner(s) of the dining room
7. Pick up meal trays
8. Performs other duties as needed
9. Works to keep residents happy and fulfill their desires
10. Completes routine paperwork daily
Physical requirements: Good physical and mental health. The work is medium to high demand. Occasionally lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. All tasks require walking and standing. Bends, lifts, carries, pushes and manipulates objects in the performance of his duties. Willing to work weekends. Willing to wear a face mask 8-10 hours a day
Special requirements: A preference for routine and organized activities. A temperament adaptable to routine work and to performing short cycle repetitive tasks under specific instructions. An ability to take orders and get along with others. Due to the level of interaction with residents, the position requires someone with interpersonal skills.
Must have or be able to obtain a food worker card within 15 days of hire, must pass pre-employment drug screening, must pass pre-employment DSHS screening.
