West Seattle Blog… | WEST SEATTLE THANKSGIVING: 2 returning traditions

Although we haven’t passed Halloween yet, we have received announcements about holiday season events, including these two:

(BMS file photo)

TURKEY COMPETITION: Eastridge Church will again distribute turkeys and bags of groceries on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. A change this year: they will return to walk-in distribution. It starts at 9am on Saturday, November 19, outside the church at 4500 39th SW and continues until the hundreds of turkeys/grocery bags are gone. Between West Seattle and the church’s main campus in Issaquah, they expect to serve 1,500 people.

FREE SEATED DINNER: Fauntleroy’s Hall (9131 California SW) will return to its longtime traditional, free-for-all community Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 24). Schedules and other details are yet to come. Last year, The Hall offered free take-out dinners.

PS We are starting to work on our West Seattle Vacation Guide, so if you have an event/sale/etc, the sooner you can send us the info – [email protected] – the better; Thanks!
